The Fair

This year’s Fair builds on the successful format established in 2004 and 2006 with a focus on carbon reduction – carbon down:profits up!   Thursday 31 January will be hosted by TV presenter and broadcaster Wendy Gibson and features key note speakers from DEFRA, workshops, seminars and case studies on waste management, environmental legislation, energy saving and other topical environmental issues which are key to business success.  

 

Friday 1 February provides a forum for the launch of 'Renew Two' looking at the future direction of the organisation and opportunities for businesses. It will also feature the launch of the Renew Tees Valley Legi Programme and the Legi Programme Competition. 

 

Exhibition

Up to forty companies with knowledge across a wide range of environmental issues will be exhibiting. Visiting businesses will be able to tap into free advice around issues such as reducing energy costs, minimising waste and carbon reduction to grant availability for environmental improvements.


Conference  & Workshops

The main focus of the conference is carbon reduction, the aim is to assist businesses to get to grips with carbon reduction targets, through enhanced understanding of carbon credits and carbon offsetting our aim is to show that carbon reduction can result in profit.  Workshops will be geared towards helping business to address real and current environmental issues around the more general themes of energy reduction, recycling and waste management as well as carbon reduction.  The Fair also offers opportunities for individuals or organisations who have an ‘environmental' business idea an opportunity to obtain business development advice from experts who can help them move ideas forward.   This includes advice and information about grant funding and business support.  

Environment Industry Awards and Dinner

The Environment Industry Awards attracted more than 20 entries while 100 guests attended the Awards dinner in 2006.   2008 will see  the introduction of a new Education Award and Awareness Raising Award.
